Employee evaluation scoring

Employees generally desire a periodic evaluation of their performance. Job performance should continually improve, due to an atmosphere of continuous, objective feedback from his/her manager. An effective evaluation procedure provides the means for management to recognize strong performance and to motivate improvements in weak performers. Evaluating an employees performance is not an easy task, nor is it a pleasant one in the case of a substandard review. However, it is the responsibility of each manager to the company and each employee to routinely evaluate and discuss job performance. The performance evaluation process must always be positive and viewed as a benefit to the employee and company as a whole. Even a substandard review can be viewed as positive by the employee, if it provides the means for him/her to improve their job performance.
