Controlling Slow Inventory

Research has determined that most durable goods distributors carry 35% to 4O% more items in stock than is really needed. However, some of the items included in this 35%-40% do sell a little and are not completely dead. The trickle of sales they do produce, however, does not generate anywhere near enough profit to justify the dollars that are invested in inventory.
